Connecticut Fall Fashion

Fall is one of the most beloved seasons when it comes to style and fashion. We get lost thinking about what to wear while breathing in the crisp autumn air and walking around the county fairs. It’s a time to appreciate nature for its brilliant beauty of colour and warmth.
Fall 2018 is the season of layering, and is a time when trends take a turn inward. It is more about the person inside the clothing and the feelings fashion evokes – confidence, optimism, momentum and power. This year’s fall runways combined looks for both men and women that continued to put emphasis on comfort and weaving it beautifully into stylish work to weekend options.
We found some of this season’s must-have updates from FatFace, New Haven at The Shops at Yale.
Elizabeth shows us one of the most all- American layering pieces that works well all year long: the denim jacket. It pairs perfectly over your summer dresses for that easy to wear, transitional outfit. Her effortless braid shows that she is a woman who understands how to feel good while she takes care of her family, and stays true to her sense of style.
Matt shows us that the classic denim takes on rich deep color and opens up a new spectrum of modern weekend dressing for men. Layering can also be lightweight and effortless – say goodbye to big and bulky sweaters and hello to streamlined comfort and style. This look takes him from his daytime, outdoor adventures to a nice casual dinner in the evening.
Jessica takes on the day with a boldness and confidence as she approaches the weekend in all of its glory. The scarf IS back and is a classic accessory designed to be big, bold and on point this season. Mix the warm colors you see this season for a new take on effortless dressing with an element of comfort mixed in.
Your signature jacket should be a show stopper that keeps you warm and brings you that quiet confidence to embrace the changing weather. Niko layered this stunning jacket over his summer tee and classic shirt. The look is relaxed and carefree but still full of intention to approach his day with optimism and momentum.
FatFace carries contemporary men’s and women’s clothing. It is located on Chapel Street in New Haven and is part of The Shops at Yale.
