Seasons Media, LLC, (Seasons Magazines, Your Community Connection) established in April 2006, creates, produces and delivers quarterly magazines to more than 60,000 households in key areas of Connecticut. These were identified, as were franchise territories, by Seasons Magazines using precise household demographic analysis based upon proprietary information. Each of our four quarterly magazines provides superior quality, polished editorial content of community interest, and magnificent photographs, with a focus that is hyper-local for each of our respective areas. The circulation of Seasons Magazines totals some 200,000 readers, as confirmed in an independent audit commissioned by the company.
Our magazines are direct mailed free of charge to all households within our target geographic areas. This is vastly different from typical magazine penetration, which is subscription driven and fragmented. Local businesses benefit from the 100% coverage in these areas and from the magazines’ quality editorial content, photography, and ads that are effectively presented and get the message across to readers. Advertisers within each target geographic area support the production, printing, and delivery of our magazines to local households.
There are currently four regional Seasons Magazines in Connecticut: Seasons of Farmington Valley, Seasons of Glastonbury, Seasons of West Hartford, and our new territory, Seasons of the Northwest Hills. As Seasons Magazines grew to cover three regions, we fine-tuned our product, approach, systems, product diversification, and bottom line. The mission of Seasons Magazines is two-fold: attracting consumers to local businesses in their communities, while providing readers with a free, sophisticated quarterly (seasonal) magazine that contains local photographs and community-focused feature articles. Local businesses are vital in today’s economy, and Seasons Magazines seeks to maximize local consumer spending and the amount of money that stays in the community and region, thereby ensuring stability by generating income and employment. Local advertisers include hospitals, medical providers, educational programs, institutions, retailers, merchants, and financial and investment providers. These advertisers are able to emphasize certain products and/or services in each quarterly edition of the magazine, reaching 100% of the households within their geographic area. They often gear the timing of specific ads to a school calendar, investment period, annual exams or doctor visits, preparation for holidays, or seasonal or other events.
By providing a solution that connects buyers to service providers and merchants, our publications provide economic support in smaller markets. This enhances the vitality of the communities we serve and allows local providers and merchants an edge as they compete with large national chains. We have found that local businesses often prefer advertising in our magazines to a city or local newspaper. They appreciate the efficiency of communicating with their customers in an upscale magazine that is direct mailed free of charge; they like the four-color presentation; they note that our ad space is affordable when compared with other media; and they value the cost-benefits of reaching a large readership so economically.
